Damon King : Senior Associate

Damon graduated from QUT with a Bachelor of Law in 1996, and has practised in insurance claims management and the conduct of litigation in the areas of workers’ compensation, public liability and CTP. 

Prior to relocating to Brisbane he practiced in regional Queensland in various litigated commercial disputes, including acting for local authorities in planning and environment development actions.  He has conducted recovery actions in various forms for a financial institution and insurers. 

Damon joined WHD in March 2003.  Since that time he has worked exclusively in the insurance and workers’ compensation division of WHD acting for Xstrata, Arnotts, Suncorp CTP and public liability, and also for the Nominal Defendant Queensland.

Damon recently presented a paper to and attended at a meeting of the Queensland Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurers’ Association.  Damon contributes regularly to the firm’s legal update.

Damon has almost 10 years practical experience in workers’ compensation litigation. Damon was made an Associate of the firm on 1 July 2005 and a Senior Associate on 1 July 2006. 

Damon is presently completing a post graduate degree through the University of Melbourne, being a Masters of Labour Relation Laws.
